Describing a person may be an easy job, one adjective may be enough to portray a particular quality of a person; however, it is not possible to give a detailed image of that person in a single word. But we can give a description which is so complete that a reader can visualize the person just from reading the description. According to Purdue University writing lab:
The descriptive essay is a genre of essay that asks the student to describe an object, person, place, experience, emotion, situation, etc. This genre encourages the student’s ability to create a written account of a particular experience. What is more, this genre allows for a great deal of artistic freedom (Purdue Online Writing Lab).
In this essay, I will try to describe my friend in such a way that a reader would be able to recognize him if they ever meet him.
Omar is a friend and cousin who is an undergraduate student at a local university. When you see him coming it looks like a huge hill is rolling towards you! He is big, about 6 feet 3 inches, built like a football player, with a hefty body, which is more muscle than fat. His torso is longer than his legs, with wide bulky shoulders which have a wider span than an airplane’s wings. Muscles in his chest and shoulders, appear to be bursting from the confines of his body like a carton packed, but ready to burst. His body tapers at the waist and hips though according to him his backside is non-existent. Since his legs are relatively short they appear to be more colossal and powerful than they really are.
