This is an HPT analysis of an Internet search tutorial designed for eighth-graders.
Most eighth-graders in Tracy Middle School are familiar with using the computer and the Internet, however, their level of expertise in using the Internet for research purposes vary. Some have home computers, while others do not. Some can design websites, whereas some do not know what a keyword search. In the eighth grade, students need to know who to use the web for research because this is when they start writing research papers. The purpose of this tutorial is to ensure that all eighth-grade students know who to use the web for researching topics for term papers.
