The education system of the United Arab Emirates has come to new burgeoning heights since 1971. Prior to 1971 Kuwait used to finance education in six of the U.A.E emirates but after 1972 the education ministry of U.A.E has been managing the entire education system. In U.A.E education is compulsory at the primary level and is free for all the U.A.E citizens with other educational facilities such as uniform, textbooks, and transportation. Since Arabic is the native language of the U.A.E it is compulsory in all educational schools and institutions. Being an Islamic nation segregation of male and female classes is compulsory. There are a number of high standard educational schools, colleges, institutes and universities with each having its own objectives and admission criterion. Some of the institutes and universities are governmental where only nationals are allowed to pursue higher education. However, foreigners can attend private schools, universities, and institutes fulfilling the admission requirements and specifications. The education system of U.A.E meets all the global educational specifications and requirements. The locals can enroll in universities abroad at the expense of the government.
