From the Essay

Egalitarianism is a type of thought in political philosophy. An egalitarian promotes equality of in all aspects of the society: People should get the same things, or be that they should be treated in the same way, or all individuals should be treated equally. Egalitarian philosophy tends to illustrate the notion that all individuals are equal in basic value or moral status

In modern democratic societies, the term “egalitarian” is often used to relate to a position that favors, for any of a wide array of reasons, a greater degree of equality of income and wealth across persons than currently exists.Egalitarianism is an ethical code. It is the conviction that all people should be equal. This does not lead to an ethical system.

Culture of poverty is a self enabling structure of avoidance, indulgence of whims, hopelessness, and acceptance; an adjustment and reaction of the poor to the secondary position in a class-stratified, highly individuated, capitalistic society. (Anthromorphemics) Oscar Lewis has pointed this out. (Lewis, 1969) The culture of poverty goes beyond geographical, rural/urban, and nationwide distinctions.
